“Suleiman’s Shop” Promises a Unique Ramadan Drama Experience

The Suleiman’s Shop series is set to captivate audiences during the upcoming Ramadan season. Artist Abdullah Farid recently completed filming the ten-episode drama. The series will air on several Gulf and Arab satellite channels, offering viewers a glimpse into the world of perfume making. It combines cultural tradition with compelling storytelling, making it one of the most anticipated productions of the season.

The series is written and directed by Hamad Al-Sarraf, who transitions from cinema to television for this project. Producer Othman Al-Anjari oversees the production, ensuring a high-quality presentation. The drama follows Suleiman Al-Marshoud, a celebrated perfume maker in Kuwait and across the Gulf region. Through his craft, the story highlights creativity, tradition, and passion.

Abdullah Farid stars as Hussein Al-Roumi, a merchant and close friend of Suleiman. He portrays an ambitious young man discovering his world through perfume creation. His character explores the artistry of blending oriental fragrances. Additionally, the series features prominent actors, including Jassem Al-Nabhan, Mohammed Jaber, Faisal Al-Omairi, Mona Shaddad, and Abdullah Al-Turkmani. Several young talents also appear, representing the region’s next generation of artists.

During Ramadan, Kuwaiti and Gulf drama traditionally sees a surge in production. Channels across the region, along with the Ministry of Information, actively support such projects. This support expands creative horizons while addressing social topics and cultural narratives. Therefore, the Suleiman’s Shop series exemplifies both artistic ambition and regional storytelling.

Farid also revealed plans for future projects as a director. He has selected a script for a short feature film featuring young members of the Kuwaiti Theater Troupe. The film will explore social themes within a traditional framework. This project emphasizes nurturing talent while presenting meaningful content.

Finally, Farid highlighted the importance of impactful regional works. He explained that Gulf art needs content with depth, cultural resonance, and global appeal. By presenting the Suleiman’s Shop series, the team aims to convey the humanity and creativity of Kuwait and the region to wider audiences worldwide.
