Fight Against Fraud: Authorities Urge Public to Use Digital Reporting App

Authorities in Bahrain have intensified efforts to report financial fraud through digital tools. The General Directorate for Combating Corruption, Economic and Cyber Security has called on citizens and residents to act quickly. Moreover, officials encouraged everyone to use the “My Government” application to submit reports efficiently.

The Directorate explained that the process starts on the app’s homepage. First, users select the “Police” icon. Then, they choose the “Submit a Report” service. After that, they review the instructions carefully. Next, they enter their personal details and confirm accuracy before continuing.

In addition, users must provide full details about the incident. They should clearly describe how the fraud occurred. For example, scams may involve text messages, websites, or emails. Furthermore, fraud may appear through social media platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, or Facebook. Some cases may also involve fake trading platforms. Therefore, accurate reporting helps authorities respond faster.

Officials also stressed the importance of attaching evidence. Users should upload bank statements that show unauthorized deductions. They should also include screenshots of bank messages and online conversations. As a result, these details strengthen each case.

The Directorate warned that incomplete reports may delay action. Missing banking information can prevent authorities from investigating properly. Therefore, users must ensure that all required details appear clearly.

At the same time, officials highlighted the wider impact of public cooperation. They explained that every effort to report financial fraud protects not only individuals but also the wider community. Consequently, early reporting reduces risks and limits further damage.

The Directorate reinforced its message with a clear statement. It noted that public participation plays a key role in fighting cyber and financial crimes. This approach supports national efforts to improve digital safety and security.

This initiative forms part of a broader awareness campaign. Authorities continue to educate the public about online threats. In addition, they aim to strengthen trust in digital services. As more people engage, the system becomes more effective.

Officials urged everyone to remain alert and proactive. They emphasized that quick action makes a real difference. Therefore, choosing to report financial fraud can help prevent future crimes and protect society as a whole.
