Bahrain Court Awards Traffic Accident Compensation to Young Boy After Spinal Injury

Traffic accident compensation became a reality for a young boy in Bahrain after he suffered spinal injuries in a vehicle crash. Authorities confirmed the child, who sustained a 12% partial disability, would receive compensation following a court ruling.

The accident happened when the driver lost control and hit a metal barrier, causing the car to overturn. The crash damaged both the vehicle and the barrier. The boy suffered a severe spinal injury, which caused physical pain and emotional distress.

After the incident, the boy’s father, acting as his legal guardian, filed a lawsuit for traffic accident compensation. He sought material and moral damages. He requested a specialized medical committee to evaluate his son’s injuries and determine the level of permanent disability. The court ordered the vehicle’s insurance company to pay damages under Bahrain’s Compulsory Insurance Law for Civil Liability.

Medical exams confirmed the child suffered a 12% partial disability. Based on these findings, the High Civil Court ruled in favor of the child and his guardian. The court awarded 6,500 Bahraini dinars in compensation. It also included 90 dinars for medical committee fees, 500 dinars for attorney fees, and legal interest at 2% per year from the filing date until full payment.

Lawyer Ali Khalifa, representing the boy, said the ruling shows the legal system supports victims of negligence. He added that proper legal channels allow families to secure traffic accident compensation and cover unexpected medical and emotional costs.

Bahraini authorities continue enforcing road safety measures to prevent similar accidents. Public campaigns stress driving with caution, respecting speed limits, and ensuring vehicles are properly insured.

This case reinforces that victims of negligence can claim rightful compensation. Families affected by road accidents should consult legal experts to pursue justice. The verdict also warns drivers to exercise care on Bahraini roads.
