The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the results of the Class 12 examinations for 2026, bringing relief and anticipation to thousands of students across India and overseas, including in Oman.
The exams were conducted between February 17 and April 10, after which evaluation work was completed ahead of Wednesday’s official release of results.
In Oman, more than 2,200 students from 21 Indian curriculum schools sat for the examinations, reflecting the scale of India’s expatriate education system across the Gulf region.
They also implemented a special assessment framework for students in the Middle East, where examination schedules varied. The alternative evaluation method was designed to ensure fairness and consistency in grading for schools affected by differing exam conditions.
Students can access their results through official CBSE websites, including cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in, as well as through mobile platforms such as DigiLocker and the UMANG application. Additional services, including SMS and IVRS, are available within India.
The CBSE system is widely followed by Indian schools across the Gulf, where large expatriate communities rely on Indian curriculum education. Annual results are closely watched by families in the region as they often determine university admission pathways in India and abroad.
