UAE National Workforce Soars as Skilled Talent Strengthens Economy

The UAE’s national workforce is growing steadily, reflecting the nation’s economic strength and focus on skilled talent. Over the past year, Emirati employment increased by more than 11%. Meanwhile, skilled professionals rose by over 13%, showing a clear commitment to developing national capabilities. This growth highlights the importance of the national workforce in supporting the country’s private sector expansion.

According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), more than 156,000 Emiratis now work in private-sector establishments. Additionally, the number of private-sector companies rose over 14%, showing strong confidence from employers and investors. Therefore, the private sector continues to play a vital role in shaping the UAE labor market and creating opportunities for skilled Emiratis.

During a ceremony at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), winners of the UAE Labour Market Leadership Award were honored. Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar stated that celebrating best labor practices builds a competitive, knowledge-based economy. He also noted that these efforts improve the business environment and position the UAE among the world’s fastest-growing economies.

Furthermore, the UAE national workforce now ranks first globally across several labor market competitiveness indicators. This achievement encourages ongoing collaboration between the government, private sector, and national talent to drive growth. Experts also note that more skilled Emiratis strengthen the country’s long-term economic sustainability.

The government invests in professional training programs, ensuring the national workforce adapts to evolving business demands. Moreover, the rise in private-sector employment demonstrates the success of economic reforms that attract investment and foster innovation.

As the UAE continues expanding opportunities, it demonstrates commitment to human capital development and economic resilience. The growth in skilled talent aligns with the vision of a global hub for knowledge, business excellence, and innovation. Ultimately, the national workforce remains central to the UAE’s economic strategy and future prosperity.
