DUBAI: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has praised the initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohamed highlighted Sheikh Mohammed’s efforts to promote human values inspired by Islamic principles. These efforts earned Sheikh Mohammed the first-ever Emirates International Holy Quran Award – Personality of the Year for 2025.
This award recognizes Sheikh Mohammed’s significant contributions to the Holy Quran and its reciters, both locally and globally. Sheikh Mohamed presented the special edition of the Mushaf of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Sheikh Mohammed. He also gave a framed photograph featuring both leaders with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Additionally, Sheikh Mohamed expressed his gratitude in a signed letter.
During their meeting at Sheikh Zayed’s farm in Al Khawaneej, Dubai, Sheikh Mohamed emphasized Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s role in the UAE’s progress. He also acknowledged Sheikh Mohammed’s support for the development of the country’s people. Sheikh Mohamed said that Sheikh Mohammed’s contributions define the UAE’s growth and its commitment to prosperity.
Several other prominent leaders were present at the meeting. These included His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman.
Sheikh Mohammed’s commitment to the Holy Quran is reflected in several key initiatives he has established. One of the most notable programs is the Dubai International Quran Award. This award includes various important events such as the Islamic Personality of the Year Award and the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Quranic Manuscripts. Moreover, he created multiple Quranic competitions, including the International Quran Competition and Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Quran Competition for Women.
Furthermore, Sheikh Mohammed has played an instrumental role in the development of Quranic institutions. His efforts include the establishment of the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Printing the Holy Quran. The inaugural Emirates International Holy Quran Award reflects the UAE’s dedication to supporting Quranic education globally.
This award includes three main categories: International First Place Quran Award, National First Place Quran Award, and the First International Quran Award. These awards honor outstanding figures and institutions in the Quranic field. They aim to recognize achievements in memorization, recitation, and the preservation of the Holy Quran.
This significant recognition highlights Sheikh Mohammed’s efforts to foster Quranic talent and promote the preservation of the Holy Quran worldwide.
