RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Film Commission is set to showcase the Kingdom’s growing influence in the global film industry at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, running from February 13 to 23.
The commission is hosting a Saudi pavilion with key partners to highlight the Kingdom’s increasing presence and strategy to become a leading destination for filmmakers and producers. One of the key events will be a roundtable discussion titled “Will 2025 be the Year of Independent Films at the Global Box Office?” bringing together industry experts to explore future trends and challenges.
In addition to enhancing cultural exchange, the commission aims to empower Saudi talent and further develop the skills of emerging filmmakers. An official delegation, including a group of filmmakers, will attend the prestigious festival, which is renowned for awarding the Golden Bear for best film.
The Berlin International Film Festival, established in 1951, features a wide array of films, including documentaries, experimental works, and feature films, and is one of Europe’s most prominent film events.
