The Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW), alongside the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities and the Al Noor Center for the Blind, actively participated in the World Disability Summit held in Berlin. This event reaffirmed Qatar’s dedication to empowering people with disabilities on a global stage.
QFSW’s involvement aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasizes human and social development. The summit provided a platform for Qatari institutions to highlight national efforts aimed at supporting the rights and integration of persons with disabilities.
Khalid bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, Acting CEO of QFSW, emphasized that the foundation’s presence reflects Qatar’s commitment to strengthening global cooperation, exchanging best practices, and promoting inclusive policies. The delegation attended several high-level events. They also engaged with international experts in disability and social development.
Meshal Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Al Noor Center, described the summit as a key opportunity to present Qatar’s work supporting the blind community. It also fostered new collaborations to enhance and innovate support services.
Maryam Saif Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Al Shafallah Center, highlighted the center’s emphasis on technological innovation. She noted efforts to develop adaptive tools and programs that improve the independence and societal participation of individuals with disabilities.
The participation of these institutions reinforces Qatar’s growing role in advocating for disability rights and inclusive development on both regional and international levels.
