Qatar Stresses Regional Security, Calls for Arab Cooperation at Arab League Session

Qatar emphasized the importance of regional security during its participation in the Arab League Council’s extraordinary ministerial session. The meeting, held via video conference on Sunday, brought together top Arab officials to address pressing threats to sovereignty and territorial integrity across the region. Qatar’s delegation, led by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, highlighted the urgent need for cooperation among Arab nations.

During the session, delegates strongly condemned recent attacks undermining the sovereignty of multiple Arab countries. They stressed that such actions violate international laws, treaties, and the principles of good neighborliness. Furthermore, participants warned that these violations pose serious risks to regional security, stability, and economic prosperity across the Arab world.

Qatar called for increased diplomatic collaboration, coordinated responses, and proactive measures to ensure peace. Officials discussed frameworks to strengthen intelligence sharing, reinforce border monitoring, and prevent future escalations. They emphasized that upholding international law and promoting dialogue remain essential for safeguarding regional security.

The meeting also explored strategies to mitigate the long-term impacts of instability on citizens, infrastructure, and trade. By engaging in these discussions, Qatar reinforced its commitment to protecting Arab nations’ sovereignty while contributing to collective stability. The session concluded with a unanimous call for joint initiatives and continued monitoring of threats affecting the region.

Qatar’s active role at the Arab League underscores its dedication to supporting diplomacy, fostering collaboration, and addressing security challenges effectively. Officials confirmed that the country will continue to participate in follow-up meetings, engage with member states, and coordinate actions that strengthen regional alliances.
