Kuwait Expands Therapeutic Nutrition Clinics to Boost Public Health

Kuwait is improving its healthcare system by focusing on the role of nutrition clinics in boosting public health. Health officials say the impact of nutrition on preventing chronic diseases is very important for reducing lifestyle-related illnesses.

The Ministry of Health recently opened four new nutrition clinics, raising the total to 66 across the country. These clinics give nutrition assessments and create personalized care plans for patients with obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. This growth shows the impact of nutrition on preventing chronic diseases in everyday healthcare.

At a special forum and workshop on nutrition, the Health Minister stressed the value of scientific knowledge and practical approaches. However, the event focused on digestive diseases and encouraged discussions on new research. Experts shared ways to improve healthcare quality and promote teamwork among medical staff.

Officials said unhealthy diets, lack of exercise, tobacco use, and modern lifestyles are main causes of chronic diseases. They also added that these risks can be reduced through awareness campaigns, lifestyle changes, and science-based nutrition programs. Teaching people about healthy habits early is key to lasting health improvements.

The new clinics are at Al-Aqila Health Center, Mubarak Al-Kabeer East Health Center, and Al-Mutlaa N11 and N8 Centers. Each clinic also provides care based on proven diet programs like the Mediterranean diet, DASH diet, low-calorie diets, and the Portfolio diet. Patients get advice that fits their needs, helping them improve health and life quality.

Dr Hasnaa Ayad, Director of the Nutrition and Food Department, said good nutrition is the key to preventing diseases. She also noted ongoing staff training and program development based on global best practices. The ministry wants these clinics fully active in primary healthcare, giving easy access to preventive and treatment services.

Overall, Kuwait shows the impact of nutrition on preventing chronic diseases by opening more clinics, teaching healthy habits, and focusing on early care. This work addresses health challenges and helps the country improve long-term public health.

Overall, expanding nutrition clinics shows Kuwait’s commitment to preventive healthcare, practical guidance, and healthy lifestyle changes, making communities healthier across all regions.
