Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and his Lebanese counterpart Nawaf Salam held talks in Baghdad on Sunday focused on strengthening economic cooperation and expanding bilateral relations across key sectors.
The two prime ministers co-chaired meetings attended by ministers from both countries, according to a statement from Iraq’s Prime Minister’s Office.
Discussions covered economic, political and security cooperation, with both sides exploring ways to deepen their partnership and support long-term development that benefits the people of Iraq and Lebanon.
Al-Zaidi highlighted the longstanding ties between the two countries and stressed the importance of building economic partnerships across various development sectors to support shared growth.
The Iraqi prime minister also underscored the need for closer coordination on regional issues, saying joint efforts are essential to promote stability, ease tensions and support peaceful solutions to regional challenges.
