Iraq Counter-Terrorism Service Marks Anniversary with Renewed Commitment to National Security

The Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) celebrated the anniversary of its establishment with renewed dedication to Iraq’s security. Iraq’s security guides this anniversary message and highlights the agency’s mission.

Lieutenant General Karim Al-Tamimi addressed the anniversary, emphasizing that Iraq’s security remains the top priority. He recalled the agency’s journey since its founding, honoring the dedication and sacrifice of its personnel. The Counter-Terrorism Service has consistently tackled the most dangerous threats in the country. Over the years, its forces played a decisive role in defeating ISIS militants and restoring safety to communities.

Al-Tamimi further explained that the CTS continues to operate efficiently and professionally under the command of the Iraqi Armed Forces. He stressed that the agency will remain vigilant despite attempts to distort its image. Enhancing combat readiness and maintaining operational excellence are central to the agency’s strategy moving forward.

The anniversary also provided an opportunity to honor the personnel who risked their lives for Iraq’s security. Al-Tamimi paid tribute to the fallen martyrs, whose sacrifices contributed to national victory and dignity. He also acknowledged the wounded, recognizing their dedication and courage.

Moreover, Al-Tamimi highlighted the families of the martyrs, noting that their support and sacrifices inspire the agency to continue fulfilling its national duties. He emphasized that remembering these contributions strengthens morale and motivates personnel to uphold the highest standards.

In addition, the anniversary celebrations included a reflection on achievements and lessons learned. The Counter-Terrorism Service continues to adapt to evolving security challenges while focusing on protecting civilians and maintaining public trust. Through training, modernization, and unwavering dedication, CTS demonstrates that Iraq’s security remains its foremost concern.

The agency reaffirmed three commitments on this anniversary: maintaining professional excellence, honoring sacrifices, and strengthening operational readiness. These commitments illustrate the CTS’s ongoing role as a pillar of Iraq’s defense against terrorism.

The anniversary serves as a reminder of the agency’s legacy, the bravery of its personnel, and its unyielding commitment to Iraq’s security.
