Bahraini Women Empowerment Gains Momentum Through New National Cooperation Committee

Bahraini women empowerment took a significant step forward as a new cooperation committee held its first official meeting in Bahrain. The session brought together representatives from women’s associations and committees at the headquarters of the Supreme Council for Women. The meeting focused on coordination, shared priorities, and national planning.

Luluah bint Saleh Al-Awadhi chaired the session and stressed the importance of unified national efforts. She highlighted cooperation as a foundation for advancing women’s issues across Bahraini society. Moreover, she emphasized alignment with the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women for 2025–2026.

The meeting carried symbolic importance for Bahrain. This year marks the silver jubilee of the Supreme Council for Women. It also coincides with celebrations for Bahraini Women’s Day. Therefore, participants viewed the occasion as a strategic opportunity to expand partnerships. They also aimed to strengthen existing achievements and develop new initiatives.

During the session, the General Secretariat team delivered a detailed presentation. The presentation explained the decision to establish the cooperation committee. It outlined objectives focused on activating women’s associations within civil society. Additionally, it emphasized improving communication with Bahraini women nationwide.

Committee members discussed mechanisms for cooperation and coordination. They examined how associations can support national priorities effectively. Furthermore, participants explored ways to address challenges facing women through joint programs. These efforts support the broader vision of Bahraini women empowerment.

The committee also reviewed its core responsibilities. Members will monitor existing programs targeting women across Bahrain. They will assess alignment with women’s needs and national strategies. Moreover, the committee will propose action plans within its defined mandate.

Participants highlighted the role of civil society organizations. These organizations play a crucial role in advancing women’s participation in public life. Therefore, the committee aims to expand collaboration with additional organizations. This approach ensures broader support networks for women.

The meeting also covered operational frameworks. Members reviewed meeting schedules, membership processes, and decision-making procedures. In addition, the discussion addressed awareness initiatives tied to family stability and quality of life. These areas remain central to national planning.

Committee members agreed on next steps. They will define work priorities for the upcoming period. They will also submit proposals for awareness programs. Furthermore, they will coordinate activities linked to Bahraini Women’s Day 2026.

Observers noted that the committee reflects Bahrain’s structured approach to gender-focused development. Through cooperation and planning, the initiative strengthens institutional coordination. Ultimately, Bahraini women empowerment continues to advance through organized national action and shared responsibility.
