The Bahrain Basketball Association will hold a press conference on Thursday, April 24, 2024, at the Sofitel Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa. The event will announce Bahrain’s role as the host for the 2025 FIBA Congress and the Celebrity Awards Ceremony. The press conference will begin at 6:00 PM in the Palm Hall.

Under the generous patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Bahrain is set to showcase its commitment to international sports. Shaikh Khalid, also the President of the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee, has been instrumental in placing Bahrain on the global sports map.

Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, will participate in the press conference. He will outline the Kingdom’s efforts to ensure a successful event. He will also discuss Bahrain’s vision for hosting major international sports events. This event, he believes, will enhance Bahrain’s reputation and promote Bahraini basketball worldwide.

The 2025 FIBA Congress, set for May 14 to 18, will bring together global basketball leaders and industry experts. It is a prestigious event for Bahrain, highlighting its capability to organize large-scale international events. The celebrity awards ceremony, which celebrates basketball’s greatest international stars, will also be a key part of the event.

Dana Osama Al Saad, Deputy CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, will also speak at the conference. She will emphasize the importance of such events in promoting Bahrain’s tourism sector. The global exposure from hosting the FIBA Congress will draw attention to Bahrain’s rich culture and unique offerings.

Two representatives from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) will also attend. They will introduce the agenda for the Congress and the planned celebrity awards ceremony. This announcement marks another step forward in positioning Bahrain as a hub for international sports events.

With the FIBA Congress and Celebrity Awards Ceremony, Bahrain is set to make its mark on the global sports stage. The event will showcase the Kingdom’s dedication to sports, innovation, and international collaboration.
