Regional De-escalation Tops Oman and Egypt Talks

Oman and Egypt have discussed Regional De-escalation during a phone call between their foreign ministers on Tuesday. The conversation focused on regional developments, diplomatic efforts and measures to prevent renewed military confrontations.

Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, spoke with Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Dr Badr Abdelatty. Abdelatty also oversees international cooperation and Egyptian expatriates.

During the call, both ministers reviewed relations between their countries. They also exchanged views on rapidly changing developments across the region.

The discussion addressed ongoing diplomatic efforts to contain tensions and prevent further military escalation. In particular, the ministers emphasised returning to dialogue and political understandings rather than renewed confrontation.

They also highlighted the importance of stronger coordination between Oman and Egypt. Both sides called for continued consultation as regional and international actors pursue de-escalation efforts.

Maritime security formed another important part of the conversation. The ministers stressed the need to protect regional sea routes and maintain safe navigation through maritime corridors.

They also discussed the importance of sustainable solutions that support long-term security and stability. Their statements highlighted diplomacy, coordination and maritime safety as shared priorities.

The call reflects continued communication between Oman and Egypt amid regional uncertainty. However, the statement did not identify specific initiatives, agreements or further diplomatic meetings.

Regional De-escalation remains central to the ministers’ stated approach, alongside dialogue and cooperation. Both countries expressed support for efforts that reduce tensions and protect regional stability.
