Somali Visit Concludes After Saudi Arabia Meetings

Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre concluded his Somali Visit to Saudi Arabia on Sunday, departing Jeddah after official engagements. His departure marked the end of his latest visit to the Kingdom.

At King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi joined several officials to see him off. The reception reflected the official arrangements surrounding the prime minister’s departure.

However, the available announcement did not provide further details about the purpose, duration, or specific outcomes of Barre’s visit. It also did not identify the officials who accompanied the Jeddah governor at the airport.

The departure comes amid continued diplomatic engagement between Saudi Arabia and Somalia. Both countries maintain official relations and engage through government channels on matters of shared interest.

Although the announcement offered limited information, the visit highlighted the continued contact between senior officials. Such engagements provide opportunities to maintain diplomatic communication and discuss issues relevant to bilateral relations.

Separately, another diplomatic meeting took place in Makkah during the same period. Makkah Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz received Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shri Vipul.

The meeting took place at the governorate’s headquarters, where both officials exchanged cordial conversations. They also discussed matters of mutual interest, according to the official announcement.

The announcement did not specify which subjects they addressed or whether they reached any particular agreements. Nevertheless, the meeting represented another example of Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic engagement with international representatives.

The two developments involved separate official activities in different parts of the Kingdom. Barre’s departure concluded his Saudi visit, while the Makkah meeting brought together representatives of Saudi Arabia and India.

Together, these engagements reflected the Kingdom’s ongoing diplomatic contacts with regional and international partners. However, officials released no additional details about future meetings or specific initiatives arising from either occasion.

The Somali Visit therefore ended with a formal airport farewell in Jeddah. Meanwhile, the separate meeting in Makkah continued Saudi Arabia’s programme of diplomatic engagement with foreign representatives.
