Bahrain EDB Strengthens Investment Ties With China

The Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) has concluded a five-day visit to China and Hong Kong aimed at strengthening economic partnerships and attracting new investment to the kingdom.

The delegation, led by Sustainable Development Minister and Bahrain EDB Chief Executive Officer Noor Al Khulaif, met investors, business leaders and strategic partners from June 22 to 26 to explore opportunities for deeper cooperation between the GCC and Asia.

The visit began in the Chinese city of Dalian, where Bahrain EDB participated in the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2026. The event brought together government and business leaders to discuss economic trends across China and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

On the sidelines of the forum, Bahrain’s delegation held meetings with investors and industry representatives to showcase opportunities across the kingdom’s priority sectors.

The delegation also attended the 16th Asia Pacific Family Office Forum in Hong Kong, where Al Khulaif took part in a discussion on strengthening economic resilience and expanding investment links between the GCC and Asia.

Bahrain EDB said the visit reflects its ongoing efforts to deepen international partnerships and engage with investors in key global markets.

China remains Bahrain’s third-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching $2.43 billion in 2025, supported by cooperation in sectors including technology, financial services and manufacturing.
