Kuwait National Guard Chief Visits Injured Officer

Kuwait National Guard Undersecretary Lieutenant General Hamad Salem Al-Barjas visited Al-Razi Hospital on Thursday to check on an officer injured during training. The visit highlighted the leadership’s attention to personnel welfare and its commitment to supporting injured members.

Al-Barjas met Warrant Officer First Class Mubarak Mutlaq Khaled, who serves with the 67th Special Operations Battalion. The officer sustained injuries during a training exercise, although officials did not disclose further details about the incident. During the hospital visit, Al-Barjas received updates on Khaled’s condition and conveyed messages of support from the National Guard’s leadership and personnel.

Brigadier General Abdullah Saleh Abdullah, commander of Military and Security Affairs Staff, accompanied Al-Barjas during the visit. Together, they expressed their wishes for Khaled’s recovery and offered encouragement as he receives medical care. However, officials did not provide a timeline for his recovery or indicate when he might return to duty.

The visit also underscored the organisation’s stated responsibility to monitor the health of personnel injured while performing their duties. According to the National Guard, its leadership follows up on injured members’ medical conditions and seeks to provide appropriate care and support. This approach places personnel welfare among the organisation’s responsibilities alongside operational readiness and training.

Training exercises help specialised military units maintain their skills and prepare for demanding assignments. Nevertheless, such activities can carry risks, making medical attention and follow-up important whenever personnel suffer injuries. In this case, officials confirmed the officer’s injury but released no information about its severity or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Kuwait National Guard operates as part of the country’s security structure and maintains specialised units for military and security duties. Its training activities support readiness, while leadership visits can provide opportunities to check on personnel facing medical difficulties. Furthermore, direct contact with injured members allows senior officials to convey institutional support during recovery.

Al-Barjas’s hospital visit reflects the leadership’s emphasis on maintaining contact with personnel after training-related injuries. Meanwhile, Khaled’s medical progress remains subject to updates from the relevant authorities. The National Guard has not announced additional details about the incident, the officer’s treatment, or his expected return to service.
