Bahrain Clubs Shine at Annual Road Race Championship

Bahrain’s top clubs showcased remarkable performances at the annual Clubs Road Race Championship, highlighting the country’s growing Bahrain athletics triumph. The event, held on December 13, 2025, featured competitions for both junior and senior categories, including boys and girls. Athletes displayed skill, endurance, and teamwork across multiple races, keeping spectators engaged throughout the day.

In the junior category, five clubs competed: Al-Ahli, Al-Busaiteen, Al-Shabab, Al-Hala, and Bahrain Club. Bahrain Club claimed the junior championship with 21 points, narrowly defeating Al-Busaiteen, which scored 24 points. Al-Ahli followed in third place with 61 points, while Al-Hala and Al-Shabab participated as individual entries. The club’s strong performance underlined the depth of young athletic talent in the country.

Individually, Al-Hala runner Osama Saif Musad captured first place with a time of 14:30.51 minutes. Bahrain Club’s Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed finished second at 14:48.34 minutes, and Al-Busaiteen’s Khaldoun Ali Musad came third with 15:34.26 minutes. These results reflected both fierce competition and impressive endurance among junior athletes.

In the senior category, four clubs competed: Al-Ahli, Al-Busaiteen, Al-Shabab, and Al-Hala. Al-Hala Club emerged as the senior champions with 12 points, followed by Al-Busaiteen (41 points) and Al-Shabab (42 points). Al-Ahli participated as an individual entry. Khalid Jassim Ahmed of Al-Hala won first place individually in 28:11.81 minutes, followed by teammate Abdul Salam Ali Hassan at 28:48.28 minutes, as well as Al-Busaiteen’s Abdullah Khalid Al-Maqahwi at 29:19.04 minutes.

Girls’ junior races saw Bahrain Club dominate the top three positions. Aline Qamar Salem won first place with 8:30.10 minutes, while Aseel Mujahid and Amna Mohammed Salman came second and third, respectively. Boys’ junior races mirrored this success, with Bahrain Club runners Hussein Al Sayed Ali and Mazen Ibrahim securing first and second places. Busaiteen Club’s Khalid Ahmed Adel finished third at 8:01.70 minutes.

The Bahrain Athletics Federation recognized the winners in an awards ceremony following the races. Board member Mohammed Yousef Al Shehabi presented medals to the champions in the presence of club administrators and coaches. Overall, the event celebrated not only individual achievements but also teamwork, discipline, and the continued growth of athletics in the nation.
