Bahrain Strengthens International Partnerships for Sustainable Energy

Bahrain is prioritizing the transition to sustainable energy by adopting renewable resources and innovative solutions. The Kingdom’s commitment to environmental transformation has gained momentum, with efforts focused on improving energy infrastructure. Mr. Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, emphasized the importance of forming strategic partnerships with leading international countries and companies. These collaborations are key to enhancing the efficiency of natural resource use and achieving Bahrain’s sustainable development goals.

Minister Humaidan made these remarks during a recent meeting in Rome with Mr. Dario Scannapieco, the General Manager and CEO of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP). During their discussion, they explored ways to boost cooperation in the fields of sustainable energy and resource efficiency. The meeting also centered on sharing best practices and successful experiences in clean energy development.

Minister Humaidan further stressed the need for continuous knowledge exchange and collaboration between Bahrain and international partners. This, he noted, is crucial for advancing research and development efforts in clean energy. The Minister highlighted that Bahrain’s strategic push for renewable energy sources requires a collective effort to drive sustainable transformation.

Additionally, the Minister held discussions with Mr. Flavio Cattaneo, CEO of Enel, a global leader in electricity generation and distribution. They explored opportunities for improving electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure using the latest environmentally friendly technologies. Their conversation also addressed how to encourage investments in various environmental projects, including waste treatment, water resource management, and recycling.

Bahrain’s focus on sustainable energy partnerships is part of a broader effort to achieve long-term energy security while meeting global environmental goals. The Kingdom aims to strengthen its energy sector by leveraging international expertise and investments. With these partnerships, Bahrain is paving the way for a greener, more efficient future.

As Bahrain continues to build stronger sustainable energy partnerships, its role in the global clean energy sector is set to expand. These efforts highlight Bahrain’s commitment to creating a sustainable future, with renewable energy playing a critical role in the Kingdom’s economic and environmental landscape.
