Gulf Beach Games Muscat 2025 Begins with Exciting Opening

The Gulf Beach Games Muscat 2025 officially started on Saturday with a vibrant opening ceremony. This marks the third edition of the prestigious event, which will continue until Friday. More than 300 athletes from six Gulf countries are competing in the Games. These countries are Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, UAE, and Bahrain.

The opening ceremony took place at the Lake Theatre in Qurum Natural Park. It featured a series of artistic performances that celebrated the rich Omani and Gulf cultural heritage. The performances also showcased the spirit of sportsmanship that defines the Gulf Beach Games Muscat 2025. These events emphasized unity and friendly competition among the Gulf nations.

A key moment of the ceremony was when Cherif Younousse, a national beach volleyball star, carried the Qatar flag. This symbolic gesture marked an important moment for Qatar’s delegation at the event. Several high-ranking officials from the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) attended the ceremony. These included QOC Second Vice-President Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari and QOC Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain.

The Gulf Beach Games Muscat 2025 includes eight exciting sports disciplines. Athletes will compete in beach soccer, beach handball, beach volleyball, athletics, sailing, open water swimming, air sports (paragliding), and equestrian (tent pegging). Qatar’s delegation features 18 athletes who are competing in five of these disciplines. These are beach volleyball, athletics, sailing, open water swimming, and equestrian (tent pegging).

As the competition unfolds, the Gulf Beach Games Muscat 2025 promises thrilling performances from top athletes across the region. With a focus on unity and sportsmanship, the event reflects the strong bonds between the Gulf nations. Spectators can look forward to a week filled with intense competitions and cultural celebrations that bring the spirit of the Games to life.
