Al Meera has launched a campaign showcasing Qatari Products, highlighting their contribution to the national economy. The initiative, organised with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, runs from November 5 to 12, 2026. Its theme, “The Story Began on Qatar’s Soil,” celebrates locally made goods and businesses.
The retailer works with 200 local companies, with annual transactions reaching QR700 million. Furthermore, locally produced goods account for 25 percent of Al Meera’s total sales. Its stores offer more than 8,732 domestic products from 182 suppliers across 12 categories.
Within its fast-moving consumer goods range, Al Meera works with 118 Qatari suppliers. The company also stocks 194 local brands and 3,645 domestically manufactured products. These include fresh produce, dairy, meat, poultry, baked goods and non-food items.
The campaign opened at the company’s Ain Khaled branch, with ministry officials, executives and local suppliers attending. Meanwhile, Al Meera says its network of more than 65 stores helps domestic producers reach customers. Its wider supply chain includes approximately 750 suppliers across more than 100 countries.
During the week, participating businesses can display their goods in dedicated spaces throughout Al Meera stores. Additionally, shoppers can meet producers, sample products and attend demonstrations and interactive activities. These opportunities aim to build stronger connections between customers and local brands.
Al Meera CEO Jassim Mohammed Al-Ansari said supporting domestic businesses forms part of the retailer’s responsibility. He also highlighted the company’s cooperation with the ministry to strengthen local production. The initiative, therefore, provides another opportunity to showcase Qatari businesses and their products.
Beyond the campaign, Al Meera continues working with local farms, manufacturers and suppliers throughout the year. Consequently, the retailer aims to improve access to domestic goods across its store network. The campaign also encourages customers to consider local brands during everyday shopping.
