Kuwait Condemns Drone Attacks on Jordan

Kuwait has condemned the repeated drone attacks targeting Jordan, reaffirming its support for the kingdom’s security and sovereignty while taking part in regional diplomatic efforts to address rising tensions.

In a statement on Tuesday, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as a clear violation of Jordan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, warning that they pose a direct threat to the country’s security and stability. The ministry expressed Kuwait’s full solidarity with Jordan and backed all measures taken to protect its people and national security.

Separately, Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, Lt. Gen. Khaled Al-Shuraian, met Japanese Defense Attaché Col. Ryo Tatsuwakua to discuss military cooperation and explore ways to strengthen defense ties. The two sides also reviewed broader bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.

Kuwait also participated in a virtual consultative meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council foreign ministers to discuss the latest regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the ministers exchanged views on strengthening regional security and reviewed ways to enhance GCC coordination on safeguarding freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. They stressed the importance of maintaining the uninterrupted flow of shipping, trade and supplies in line with international law while respecting the sovereignty of Gulf states.

The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to political dialogue, diplomacy and confidence-building measures as the preferred path toward regional stability.
