Saudi Arabia, Canada Call For De-Escalation After Hormuz Attacks

Saudi Arabia and Canada have called for de-escalation and diplomatic efforts following recent attacks targeting vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand discussed regional developments during talks in Jeddah on Thursday, where they also reviewed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

The two ministers condemned the attacks on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, as well as strikes affecting several countries in the region.

They stressed the importance of reducing tensions, returning to negotiations, and prioritizing dialogue to reach a comprehensive agreement that supports regional and international peace and security.

The meeting reflects continued diplomatic efforts by Saudi Arabia and its partners to address growing regional tensions and promote stability through political solutions.
