Oman and the Netherlands have discussed strengthening economic cooperation and the latest regional developments, with particular focus on efforts to ensure safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
The discussions took place during a phone call between Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen.
According to Oman’s Foreign Ministry, the two ministers reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to expand their strategic economic partnership, particularly in the fields of energy, transport, supply chains as well as related industries.
They also exchanged views on ongoing regional and international developments, including diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring and maintaining maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Both sides stressed the importance of ensuring the security and freedom of navigation for all vessels without disruption, highlighting the need to protect the uninterrupted flow of global trade and energy shipments.
The ministers reaffirmed their support for practical solutions based on international law that promote stability, strengthen regional cooperation and encourage peaceful coexistence among Gulf littoral states.
The call reflects continued coordination between Muscat and The Hague on regional security and economic issues, as the Strait of Hormuz remains a vital route for international energy exports and global commerce.
