Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has received the credentials of Kuwait’s newly appointed ambassador to Doha, in a ceremony highlighting continued diplomatic engagement between the two Gulf states.
Ambassador Ahmed Al-Shraim formally presented his credentials as Kuwait’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Qatar during the meeting held in Doha on Tuesday.
According to remarks shared with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Shraim conveyed greetings from Kuwait’s leadership, including Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. He also expressed their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Qatar’s leadership, government, and people.
The envoy underlined Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening longstanding relations with Qatar across various fields. He described the ties between the two countries as deeply rooted in shared history and mutual interests, reflecting what he called a model of Gulf cooperation based on coordination, brotherhood, and support.
He also noted his pride in representing Kuwait in Doha, saying he aims to further develop bilateral cooperation and support joint interests that serve the aspirations of both nations.
Diplomatic exchanges between Gulf countries often play a key role in reinforcing regional coordination, particularly on political and economic issues, as GCC members continue to expand cooperation frameworks.
The ceremony comes amid ongoing efforts by Gulf states to maintain close diplomatic engagement and strengthen partnerships across the region.
