SABIS International School Hosts Record-Breaking 2025 STEAM Competition in Abu Dhabi

SABIS International School – Al Bateen in Abu Dhabi recently hosted the 2025 STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Competition under the theme Explore the Future. The event brought together 468 students, over 1,200 parents, and 160 staff members from SABIS schools across the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Muscat, China, Kurdistan, and Iraq. The competition, which saw a significant increase in participation compared to last year, showcased a remarkable display of talent and innovation.

The students competed in a variety of categories, including robotics, 3D printing, drones, electronics, and electric cars. New this year was a quiz-based competition that challenged students’ academic knowledge and fast thinking. This added an exciting new element to the event. Spectators were captivated by the students’ impressive skills in programming, engineering, digital design, circuit understanding, and more.

One of the highlights of the event was the innovation display area. Here, attendees had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge solutions from regional companies such as LODD, TII, ADNOC, EDNEX, and JACKY’S.

SABIS believes that STEAM education plays a crucial role in preparing students for future challenges and opportunities. It fosters innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. With this in mind, the SABIS STEAM Competition has become an annual tradition, now in its fourth year. Each iteration raises the bar for the next.

Ryan Bistany, Operations Director at SABIS, expressed his pride in the event’s success: “Our goal was to inspire students to explore their interests in STEAM and develop the skills they need to succeed in the future. The projects and ideas presented were truly remarkable and reflect exactly what SABIS is all about. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved so far and am already looking forward to next year’s event.”

The competition highlighted the dedication of the entire SABIS community in supporting the students and their growth. As the event continues to evolve, the future of STEAM education looks brighter than ever for the next generation of innovators.
