Kuwait Government Reshuffle Brings Fresh Faces and New Priorities to National Leadership

Osama Boodai became Minister of Commerce and Industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Kuwait University. Previously, he served as CEO of a major transport and trading company. Additionally, he held senior roles in telecommunications and retail. His appointment aims to modernize commerce and support private-sector growth.

Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al‑Ahmad Al‑Sabah assumed the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs. He earned a degree in economics from DePaul University and brings extensive diplomatic experience. Moreover, he served in various overseas missions and policy posts. His leadership will guide Kuwait’s foreign relations amid regional and global challenges.

The new Ministry of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs was created to address national long-term goals. Dr Reem Ghazi Al‑Fulaij took this position. She studied medicine, health services management, and genetic hematology internationally. Previously, she led the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition. Her role demonstrates the government’s focus on sustainable development.

Dr Tareq Al‑Jalahma was appointed Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs. He has experience as a sports consultant and former professional football player. Additionally, he worked in sports analytics. His expertise will help develop youth initiatives and promote active lifestyles.

Abdulaziz Al‑Marzouq became Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment. He has degrees in finance and business from San Jose State University and London Business School. Moreover, his long career in investment and board positions equips him to enhance Kuwait’s economic competitiveness.

Dr Yaqoub Al‑Refai assumed the role of Minister of Finance. He holds a doctorate in public administration. Previously, he directed institutions for banking studies and applied education. His experience strengthens financial governance and public fund management.
