Young UAE Achievers Honoured at Sheikh Sultan Award Ceremony

Sharjah recently hosted the fifth edition of the Sheikh Sultan Award for Celebrating the Spirit of Youth, recognising UAE youth achievement. Moreover, 680 young winners from across the country attended the ceremony at Al Badi’ Palace.

Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, praised the achievers for embracing adventure, volunteering, and self-discovery. She said, “Adventure is the spirit, volunteering its driving force, and self-discovery guides outstanding leadership.”

In addition, she encouraged the winners to uphold values and integrity. She stressed that family, teachers, and friends form the support system that fuels growth. Furthermore, she reminded them to remain true to promises and protect the trust others place in them.

“Confidence from others is a gift that must be respected,” she added. She also warned against actions that sow division, urging youth to safeguard friendships built on trust and respect. Moreover, she emphasised honesty, accountability, and the courage to apologise when necessary.

Highlighting the digital age, Sheikha Jawaher advised the youth to practise responsibility online. She encouraged relying on official information sources, avoiding rumours, supporting peers, and practising generosity. She added, “Brotherhood is one of life’s greatest strengths.” Additionally, she emphasised sincerity and transparency, explaining that a pure heart reflects through actions.

She concluded by urging winners to seek guidance, start each day with hope, and move forward with open minds and confidence.

Meanwhile, Aziza Ibrahim Al Mazmi, Director of the Sheikh Sultan Award, welcomed guests and reflected on the award’s growing impact. She noted that 680 winners represented 37 nationalities, showing both growth and maturity in awareness and experience.

The award focuses on developing skills beyond academics. For example, it provides opportunities for adventure, volunteering, physical fitness, and personal development. Therefore, the programme empowers youth to explore their abilities and positively contribute to their communities.

Through initiatives like this, Sharjah fosters UAE youth achievement, encouraging the next generation to embrace responsibility, leadership, and active participation in society. Consequently, this platform continues to grow as a cornerstone for youth development in the region.

By celebrating 680 young achievers, the Sheikh Sultan Award highlights the importance of values, integrity, and digital responsibility in shaping future leaders. Furthermore, the programme inspires youth to reach their full potential while contributing to their communities.
