Oman Advances Mobile Solar Power Innovation With Strategic Partnership

Oman is making strides in clean energy through a new mobile solar power innovation initiative. AB Energy, a local renewable energy company, joined forces with China-based Wuxi Longmax Technology to develop, assemble, and deploy mobile solar power plants in Oman. This partnership represents a significant leap in sustainable energy solutions for industrial and remote areas.

AB Energy, founded in 2024 by tech entrepreneur Abdullah al Saidi, specializes in mobile solar systems, microgrids, and advanced thermal energy storage. Meanwhile, Wuxi Longmax develops containerized solar solutions and off-grid energy systems. It operates in over 50 countries. Together, they plan to establish a local assembly line in Oman, creating jobs and transferring modern technology.

The project focuses on solar-in-a-box systems. Each unit integrates photovoltaic arrays, energy storage, and power-generation components in a standard shipping container. These systems allow rapid deployment and quick setup. Furthermore, they provide round-the-clock electricity, even when sunlight is limited. Consequently, remote sites, temporary industrial locations, and emergency operations can rely on these units. Oman’s commitment to mobile solar power innovation is evident through this initiative.

The venture will serve neighboring markets, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Yemen, and Rwanda. By doing so, it strengthens regional renewable energy capabilities. Additionally, local assembly ensures economic benefits, technical skill development, and long-term sustainability.

Al Saidi emphasized that the project represents a major leap for Oman’s renewable energy sector. It offers practical alternatives to conventional power and supports national and regional sustainability goals. Earlier this year, AB Energy signed a memorandum with OQGN to develop zero-emission thermal heating solutions using sand-based energy storage. This step complements the new initiative and enhances energy efficiency across industrial operations.

Overall, Oman is positioning itself as a regional leader in clean energy. By prioritizing mobile solar power innovation, the country expands energy access, strengthens industrial sustainability, and fosters technology adoption. With growing demand for adaptable energy solutions, this project highlights Oman’s role in advancing renewable technology in the Gulf region.
