Saudi Arabia is taking bold steps to make tourism its second-largest economic sector. The nation plans to create thousands of jobs and secure lasting financial sustainability. Saudi tourism growth captures this new ambition and defines the Kingdom’s journey toward transformation.
During the 26th session of the UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh, Deputy Tourism Minister Mahmoud Abdulhadi emphasized the importance of Saudi tourism growth in achieving Vision 2030 goals. He explained that large-scale investments in infrastructure are driving progress across the nation.
He noted that Saudi Arabia operates 29 airports and maintains more than 70,000 kilometers of roads. Moreover, a developing railway network is linking regions and improving travel convenience. These improvements, he said, will play a crucial role in accelerating Saudi tourism growth and creating more opportunities for citizens.
Additionally, Abdulhadi highlighted the country’s growing international cooperation. He pointed out that partnerships with global players are helping the Kingdom expand its tourism capacity. Among them, China remains one of the most valuable allies. “China has always been an important partner for us,” he said, stressing the strong economic ties between the two nations.
He added that Chinese companies have shared advanced technologies and valuable expertise, which have supported the Kingdom’s infrastructure and hospitality development. Furthermore, he mentioned that this collaboration would continue for years, bringing even greater innovation to Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector.
As part of its Vision 2030 plan, the Kingdom aims to attract 150 million visitors annually by the decade’s end. To achieve this, Saudi Arabia is developing major destination projects such as NEOM, The Red Sea, and AlUla. Each project blends natural beauty with cultural heritage and cutting-edge design.
Through consistent investment, international collaboration, and forward-thinking leadership, Saudi Arabia is steadily becoming a top global tourism hub. With Saudi tourism growth at the core of its strategy, the Kingdom is building a future defined by prosperity, innovation, and global recognition.
