UAE Resumes Vital Food Aid to Gaza, Supporting Thousands in Need

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) has resumed sending crucial food aid to Gaza. This effort focuses on supporting Gaza’s most vulnerable families and delivering immediate relief.

Firstly, MBRGI partnered with the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to send new convoys. These convoys carry essential food and relief parcels. The aid deliveries began as soon as Gaza’s border crossings reopened, ensuring rapid support for residents in need.

Moreover, earlier in January 2024, MBRGI pledged AED43 million in food aid for one million people in Gaza. In addition, in 2023, it provided AED50 million in urgent aid for Palestinians. Meanwhile, in September 2024, Dubai Humanitarian sent 71.6 tons of medical supplies through Egypt’s El Arish port. These actions clearly demonstrate the UAE’s commitment to supporting Gaza’s most vulnerable families.

Additionally, MBRGI allocated AED37 million to strengthen Gaza’s health sector in January 2024. The funds target essential medical supplies and prioritize children’s needs. WFP Regional Director Samer AbdelJaber said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to alleviating suffering and providing hope.

Since 2015, MBRGI has combined over 30 initiatives to tackle global challenges. Its five main pillars include Humanitarian Aid & Relief, Healthcare & Disease Control, Education & Knowledge, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Community Empowerment.

Furthermore, in 2024, MBRGI spent more than AED2.2 billion. Consequently, approximately 149 million people across 118 countries benefited. Over AED944 million was directed to humanitarian aid alone. These actions underline the UAE’s dedication to supporting Gaza’s most vulnerable families while addressing immediate and long-term needs.

Finally, MBRGI invests in human capital, education, poverty reduction, and tolerance. Its programs empower communities and create sustainable impact. The renewed food aid provides hope, stability, and sustenance for Gaza families.

Through these initiatives, MBRGI demonstrates how the UAE responds rapidly to crises. Moreover, its long-term vision ensures help reaches those who need it most.
