Qatar logistics sustainability work gained wide attention as Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC) ranked ninth in its category. This shows Qatar logistics sustainability leadership and GWC’s focus on environmental, social, and governance goals.
Sheikh Abdulla bin Fahad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, GWC Group Managing Director, said sustainable logistics in Qatar is a top priority for the company. He added that the recognition reflects GWC’s commitment to embedding ESG practices into daily operations. It also aligns with Qatar’s national development plans and global sustainability targets.
Matthew Kearns, GWC’s Group Acting CEO, said sustainability helps create positive change and encourages responsible business actions. Qatar logistics sustainability needs active steps to lower environmental impact and boost efficiency. Projects include beach clean-ups, tree planting, wastewater treatment, saving energy, cutting emissions, and using paper less.
GWC also plans vehicle routes carefully and runs reduce-reuse-recycle programs to save resources. The company cut Scope-1 carbon emissions by 3 percent and Scope-2 by 0.2 percent. It recycled more than 162,000 cubic meters of treated wastewater at Bu Sulba Warehousing Park. Water use dropped by 6 percent year-on-year.
Analysts say Qatar logistics sustainability leadership strengthens Qatar’s reputation as a center for responsible business. Investors like companies that follow ESG practices and show clear environmental results. GWC’s recognition confirms its role as a leader in sustainable logistics.
The company focuses on workforce training and community support. Sustainability programs teach employees and involve local projects. Working with clients and partners also increases transparency and strengthens ESG results across supply chains.
Experts note Qatar logistics sustainability helps both GWC and the wider economy. These actions save resources, lower costs, and attract clients who care about the environment. Sustainable work also improves Qatar’s position in regional and global logistics markets.
By investing in renewable energy, cutting emissions, and using digital systems, GWC shows how Qatar logistics sustainability drives new ideas. The company sets an example for other logistics providers while supporting national and global goals.
