FGC and Arabsat Partner to Boost VSAT Services in Saudi Arabia

VSAT services in Saudi Arabia are set for a major upgrade following a new partnership between First Gulf Company (FGC) and Arabsat. The two firms announced a collaboration to provide exclusive high-speed satellite data solutions across the kingdom.

Under the agreement, FGC and Arabsat will combine their expertise to deliver fully managed VSAT services in Saudi Arabia. Arabsat’s Ku-band satellite network will support FGC’s operational infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity for telecom operators, ISPs, and businesses.

Initially, the service will offer speeds of up to 140 Mbps, with plans to expand capacity by over 70% during the contract period. Additionally, the system is designed to adapt to future demands, including IoT, cloud computing, and AI applications.

Analysts predict that reliable high-speed connectivity in remote regions could unlock billions in untapped economic potential, particularly in tourism, agriculture, and education sectors that stand to benefit from enhanced communication capabilities. This development represents a significant step in reducing the digital divide and fostering inclusive growth throughout the kingdom.

Joe Chbat, FGC’s Executive VP of Systems, emphasized the importance of this partnership. He stated that the enhanced VSAT services in Saudi Arabia will help industries like oil, gas, and mining maintain operations in remote locations. Improved connectivity will also reduce risks, enhance security, and boost efficiency.

“This alliance with Arabsat strengthens our mission to expand digital access nationwide,” Chbat said in a joint statement.

The collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals to improve infrastructure and connectivity. By leveraging satellite technology, FGC and Arabsat aim to bridge connectivity gaps, particularly in underserved regions.

As demand for high-speed internet grows, this partnership ensures scalable solutions for businesses and emerging technologies. With this initiative, VSAT services in Saudi Arabia are poised to play a key role in the kingdom’s digital future.
