Young Voices Unite at American School of Doha’s Annual ‘Sing Out’ Festival

The American School of Doha hosted its annual Sing Out Primary Choral Festival, showcasing a true celebration of youth voices. This exciting event brought students together from schools across Qatar. They performed, collaborated, and shared the joy of singing as one unified group.

Over 300 young singers took part. They represented Doha English Speaking School, Al Khor International School, Park House English School, Dukhan English School, Qatar International School, GEMS Wellington School, as well as the American School of Doha. Guided by talented music educators, students performed uplifting choral pieces. These performances highlighted teamwork, harmony, and shared purpose. However, this festival truly embodies a celebration of youth voices.

Brita Fray led the performances. Music teachers Sanae Yamaura, Jennie Andreasen, and Lisa Cheung supported the students. Additionally, guest musicians contributed vibrant energy, enriching the festival experience for both participants and the audience. Their collaboration ensured the event was lively, engaging, and inspiring.

Moreover, the school administration played a key role. Leaders prioritized arts education and created a supportive environment for young performers. They ensure music and performing arts remain central to the school’s vision. This commitment allows students to embrace their creativity and build confidence while performing.

The festival also encouraged interaction and learning among students. Workshops and rehearsals strengthened teamwork and reinforced the joy of collective performance. In doing so, the festival promotes cultural exchange and builds friendships. It stands as a celebration of youth voices that unites the school community.

By the festival’s conclusion, participants felt inspired, proud, and motivated. The fourth edition of Sing Out has become a cherished tradition in Qatar’s school arts scene. Each year, it grows in scale, participation, and impact.

Finally, the event proves that music can unite communities, nurture talent, and celebrate young performers. It demonstrates how schools in Qatar foster creativity and support the next generation.
