The United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) for the Arabian Gulf and Kuwait, in collaboration with the Deanship of the Diplomatic Corps and Kuwait Oil Company, hosted the Sports and Environmental Day in Al-Ahmadi City as part of the seventh edition of the “Kuwait Tazra” campaign. The event, held under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, took place at Al-Ahmadi Oasis, aligning with Kuwait’s national celebrations.

Dr. Ameera Al-Hassan, head of the UN-Habitat Mission to Kuwait, emphasized the event’s role in supporting environmental efforts and sustainable development goals. Diplomats, officials, and volunteers participated in tree planting activities, specifically planting local fungal trees to combat desertification and enhance green spaces in the region.

The event also included sports activities, providing a platform for diplomats and participants to bond over shared environmental and fitness goals.
