Qatar Charity Distributes Zakat Al Fitr to 706,000 Beneficiaries Across the Globe

Qatar’s Qatar Charity (QC) has successfully distributed Zakat Al Fitr to over 706,000 people worldwide during Ramadan. The campaign, titled “Good Starts With You,” aimed to support vulnerable families in nearly 40 countries despite challenging conditions.

The initiative provided essential food parcels and cash support to families in need. In Djibouti, Zakat Al Fitr reached around 1,500 people, including sponsored orphans and struggling households. Souleiman Houssein Moussa, director general of Diwan Az Zakat, said the aid helps families celebrate Eid with reassurance and dignity. Beneficiary Ali Hassan expressed gratitude, saying the assistance came at the perfect time.

In Mauritania, QC delivered food baskets to 600 recipients, including widows, orphans, and people with disabilities. Meanwhile, Somalia’s drought-stricken areas received 2,702 baskets, helping 16,212 people meet basic needs during Eid. Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdisalam Abdi Ali praised QC’s humanitarian role in supporting vulnerable communities. Beneficiary Hassan Mumin Mohamed said the assistance eased his family’s difficulties.

In Morocco, 437 food baskets were distributed to low-income families in the Temara district, promoting social solidarity during the holy month. In Sudan, QC reached 7,758 people through distributions in Port Sudan, River Nile villages, and the Sheikha Aisha bint Hamad Al Attiyah Model City for Orphan Care.

Bangladesh saw over 32,000 beneficiaries, including orphans and vulnerable families, receive Zakat Al Fitr parcels. In Pakistan, QC’s teams distributed 2,250 dry food baskets in Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reaching approximately 15,750 people. Recipients included women-headed households, the elderly, orphans, and persons with disabilities. Ahmed Jan, a beneficiary with a disability, noted the positive impact on his family.

In Sri Lanka, QC delivered parcels to 235 vulnerable families in Gampaha, benefiting 1,175 people, including low-income households and sponsored orphans.

Through this campaign, Qatar Charity demonstrated a strong commitment to humanitarian relief, ensuring that Ramadan and Eid bring comfort and hope to the most vulnerable. The initiative not only provides immediate support but also strengthens global social solidarity and community resilience.
