The UAE has reminded residents and visitors that a special visa grace period introduced for people affected by regional flight disruptions will end on Thursday, July 9.
The temporary 30-day extension was launched following travel disruptions caused by the regional conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. It allowed stranded passengers and those who overstayed due to cancelled flights to regularize their visa status without facing immediate penalties.
Authorities said individuals covered by the special extension must take action before the deadline by renewing their visa, adjusting their residency status, or leaving the country.
From July 10, normal immigration rules will resume, and those who remain in the UAE without valid status may face overstay fines. Penalties for violations are expected to apply on a daily basis until individuals resolve their status or depart.
The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has advised affected individuals to contact official channels for guidance and keep records of relevant documents, including approvals, payment receipts, cancellation papers, and Emirates ID information.
Authorities clarified that the special grace period applies only to those impacted by the regional conflict and does not change existing rules for other visa categories, including employment, family, student, golden, and green visas.
