UAE And Korea Strengthen Energy Supply Cooperation

The United Arab Emirates and South Korea have agreed to strengthen cooperation on energy security, resource supply chains, and artificial intelligence applications in the petrochemical sector.

The agreement was discussed during talks between South Korea’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Resources, Kim Jung-kwan, and UAE Industry and Advanced Technology Minister Sultan Al Jaber, who also serves as CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

The two sides discussed measures to ensure stable supplies of crude oil and naphtha, while expanding cooperation in areas including nuclear energy, infrastructure, and advanced industries.

Under the agreement, South Korea and the UAE will work together to strengthen oil supply security and maintain strategic reserves that can support both countries during emergencies, including periods of geopolitical uncertainty.

The ministers also explored opportunities to apply artificial intelligence technologies in refining and petrochemical operations, sectors where both countries aim to increase innovation and competitiveness.

South Korean officials said closer cooperation with the UAE is increasingly important as global energy markets face growing challenges, highlighting the UAE’s role as a key energy partner.
