Saudi Industrial Sector Grows With New Licenses

Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector continued its upward trajectory in April, with hundreds of new licenses issued and dozens of factories commencing operations, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources.

The ministry said 322 new industrial licenses were granted during the month, while 188 factories began production, reflecting sustained momentum in the Kingdom’s manufacturing and industrial landscape.

Figures released by the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information showed that the total number of industrial establishments in Saudi Arabia reached 13,660 by the end of April, compared with 12,289 a year earlier.

The newly licensed projects represent investments exceeding SR12.3 billion and are expected to create nearly 3,000 jobs across various regions of the Kingdom.

Meanwhile, factories that entered production during the month account for investments worth around SR2 billion and are projected to generate more than 3,600 employment opportunities.

The ministry said industrial establishments include both operational factories and those currently under development that have received official industrial licenses.

Saudi authorities publish monthly industrial indicators to monitor activity across the sector, including new investments, factory openings and licensing trends. The reports form part of broader efforts to track industrial growth and support the Kingdom’s economic diversification objectives.
