Saudi Cabinet Reaffirms Support for Gaza Ceasefire and Regional Peace

The Saudi cabinet reviewed regional developments this week, with a strong focus on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Officials emphasized the Kingdom’s diplomatic role in pressing for a Gaza ceasefire, ensuring relief delivery, and supporting the two-state solution.

The session took place in Riyadh under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. During the meeting, members also discussed a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin and highlighted a recent meeting with Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh.

The Minister of Media explained that the cabinet assessed the latest situation in the Palestinian territories. Moreover, the council reaffirmed the importance of the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Italy. This joint declaration underscored the urgent need for a Gaza ceasefire and condemned actions that threaten long-term peace.

In addition, the statement renewed both nations’ commitment to achieving a just and secure peace in the Middle East. It also called for sustained international cooperation, stressing that collective efforts are crucial to ending violence and restoring stability. Officials noted that promoting dialogue remains central to building a path toward lasting reconciliation.

The Saudi cabinet stressed that continued engagement with international partners strengthens momentum for a Gaza ceasefire. Leaders believe that unified action can reduce tensions, protect civilians, and create conditions for progress. Furthermore, they confirmed that humanitarian aid remains a top priority and highlighted ongoing efforts to deliver assistance swiftly.

Beyond Gaza, the session reviewed broader regional and international developments. Officials reiterated the Kingdom’s intention to maintain dialogue with partners and uphold international law. They also underlined the importance of multilateral action to prevent further escalation in the region.

The meeting concluded with a call to intensify diplomatic efforts at every level. By reaffirming its support for a Gaza ceasefire, Saudi Arabia demonstrated its determination to foster stability and safeguard peace across the Middle East.
