Saudi Arabia and Kenya have signed four agreements aimed at expanding cooperation in investment, customs, finance and labour during the inaugural meeting of the Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultations Committee in Riyadh.
The meeting was co-chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, increasing coordination between the two countries and supporting regional security and stability.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides signed three memorandums of understanding. The first seeks to promote direct investment between the two countries, while the second strengthens cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters. The third establishes collaboration between the Saudi Export-Import Bank and the Kenya Development Corporation.
In addition, Saudi Arabia and Kenya signed an agreement on the recruitment and employment of Kenyan workers, further expanding cooperation in the labour sector.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from both countries, including representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Investment, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Export-Import Bank and the Kenyan government.
