Qatar Dates Festival Draws Huge Crowds and Fuels Local Date Sales

The Qatar Dates Festival continues to attract thousands of visitors, fueling economic activity and national pride. Hosted in Souq Waqif’s eastern square, the event celebrates local agriculture and supports Qatar’s farming communities. With just two days left, families and tourists still have a chance to enjoy its lively atmosphere.

The celebration highlights Qatar’s farming excellence and rich cultural heritage. The Ministry of Municipality urges the public to visit the country’s leading date festival before it concludes. Running daily from 4pm to 9pm, this seasonal event offers fresh flavors, learning experiences, and vibrant entertainment for everyone.

So far, more than 78,300 visitors have attended the Qatar Dates Festival. The growing crowd shows just how much the public values local food and farming. This seasonal date festival has become a favorite outing for families and marketgoers alike.

Vendors and farmers are enjoying strong sales during the Qatar Dates Festival. Over 150,000 kilograms of dates have been sold, underlining the demand for fresh Qatari produce. Many sellers report better business this year compared to past seasons.

Khalas dates lead in popularity, with over 66,000 kilograms sold at the event. Their smooth texture and rich sweetness keep customers coming back. The Qatar Dates Festival also helped boost awareness of lesser-known varieties.

For example, Shishi dates sold over 29,000 kilograms. Visitors enjoyed their firmness and subtle flavor. Khunaizi dates, with their dark color and soft bite, reached 28,000 kilograms sold.

Barhi dates offered even more variety. Nearly 16,000 kilograms were purchased at the Qatar Dates Festival, especially by younger guests and tourists seeking new tastes.

A total of 114 local farms took part in the event. They displayed a wide selection of dates and shared sustainable farming techniques. This collaboration added educational value to the festival experience.

The Qatar Dates Festival also showcased other local crops. Fruit sales reached over 1,800 kilograms, proving interest in produce beyond dates.

This celebration supports more than commerce. It brings the community together and educates visitors on the future of agriculture. Many families returned for a second or third visit.

Organizers of the Qatar Dates Festival expect a final surge in crowds. With special deals and fresh stock, there’s still time to enjoy this one-of-a-kind event.
