Oman Sultan Sends Message to South Korea Leader

Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman has sent a written message to South Korean President Lee Jae Myung concerning relations between the two countries, according to the Oman News Agency.

The message was delivered in Seoul by Sheikh Dr. Zakariya Al Saadi, Oman’s ambassador to South Korea, during a meeting with Chung Eui Hae, South Korea’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs.

The Oman-South Korea relations discussions come as Gulf countries continue expanding diplomatic and economic engagement with Asian partners across sectors including energy, trade, technology, and investment.

While details of the message were not disclosed, the exchange reflects ongoing communication between Muscat and Seoul amid broader regional efforts to strengthen international partnerships beyond traditional Western alliances.

South Korea remains an important economic partner for several Gulf states, particularly in infrastructure, shipbuilding, energy cooperation, and industrial development projects.

The latest diplomatic contact also highlights Oman’s continued focus on maintaining balanced international ties and active engagement with major Asian economies through bilateral cooperation and diplomatic dialogue.

The Oman-South Korea relations framework has developed steadily over recent years through political coordination, commercial partnerships, and mutual investment interests.
