The Minister of Interior conducted an inspection of the Transport Directorate’s facilities and workshops. This Directorate plays a crucial role in managing the Ministry of Interior’s vehicles and overseeing their repair and maintenance. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa was accompanied by several senior officials, including the Chief of Public Security, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and the Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs.

The inspection focused on assessing the Directorate’s ongoing efforts to meet the security needs of the Ministry. The Minister was briefed on how the Directorate supports various departments with vehicles, machinery, and equipment essential for their operations. To ensure that these needs are met efficiently, the Minister directed that the organizational structure of the Transport Directorate be restructured. This restructuring will help the Directorate keep up with the increasing demands and the dynamic nature of its work.

During the tour, the Minister was given an overview of the maintenance processes in place to ensure the safety and security of vehicles, machinery, and equipment. One of the highlights of the inspection was the new maintenance unit, which has significantly increased the capacity for vehicle repairs. This new capacity ensures that the Ministry can maintain a high level of operational readiness.

The Transport Directorate is also working towards achieving ISO 45001-2001 certification for its Occupational Health and Safety Management System. This certification will further enhance the Directorate’s ability to manage risks and improve safety standards across its operations. The Minister commended the team’s progress and emphasized the importance of modernizing work systems. He stressed that implementing advanced technologies would help improve service delivery and ensure efficiency.

Furthermore, the Minister noted the importance of utilizing resources effectively and continually improving performance. He extended his gratitude to the Transport Directorate’s team for their dedication and hard work. The Minister’s visit emphasized the critical role that efficient transportation and maintenance services play in supporting Bahrain’s security infrastructure.

In conclusion, the Minister of Interior’s inspection highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its operations. Through modernizing systems and restructuring key departments, the Ministry aims to continue its progress in delivering timely and effective services to the public. This is a vital step towards ensuring Bahrain’s continued safety and security.
