Kuwait Signs Limak Holding Deal to Complete New Airport Terminal Project

Kuwait signed contracts with Turkish construction company Limak Holding on Sunday to complete the final phases of the new passenger terminal project at Kuwait International Airport, as the Gulf state pushes ahead with major infrastructure development plans.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and several senior officials, including ministers responsible for interior, defense and public works.

Officials said the agreements reflect Kuwait’s commitment to accelerating strategic development projects and strengthening the country’s air transport infrastructure in line with international standards.

The new passenger terminal, known as Terminal 2 (T2), is expected to significantly expand the airport’s passenger handling capacity while improving travel services, cargo operations and logistics efficiency.

Authorities said the project forms part of Kuwait’s long-term development strategy aimed at modernizing infrastructure, improving public services and supporting economic diversification efforts.

Once completed, the terminal is expected to support tourism, trade and investment activities while reinforcing Kuwait’s position as a regional hub for aviation and logistics connectivity.

Officials added that the project could also help attract foreign investment and create new employment opportunities as Kuwait seeks to strengthen its role among the region’s major development centers.
