Kuwait Restores Transmission Lines, Boosts Energy Security After Recent Attacks

The Kuwait energy security efforts have advanced as the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy completed repairs on transmission lines damaged during recent attacks. Officials confirmed full operational readiness while emphasizing ongoing preparedness across all facilities.

Undersecretary Adel Al-Zamel inspected the final stages of restoration, ensuring repairs meet the highest technical standards. During a field visit, he reviewed progress and confirmed that all damaged overhead lines are now fully functional. He praised the swift response of technical teams who worked immediately after the incidents.

Al-Zamel expressed appreciation on behalf of Minister Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, highlighting staff dedication in maintaining stability of the national grid. He also addressed a recent incident at a service building in a power station, which claimed the life of an Indian worker, offering condolences to the family and expressing sorrow for the loss.

Despite attacks disrupting routine maintenance programs ahead of summer, the ministry continues coordination with international partners and manufacturers. These efforts aim to complete remaining infrastructure support and ensure peak demand readiness. Consequently, Kuwait’s electricity and water services remain reliable amid challenging circumstances.

Al-Zamel emphasized that the attacks underscore the ministry’s responsibility to safeguard essential services. He commended staff across all sectors for their commitment to public service, highlighting teamwork and rapid response as key to Kuwait’s resilience.

The ministry continues monitoring all facilities to maintain uninterrupted operations. Technical teams remain on standby for potential emergencies, while collaboration with partners strengthens Kuwait’s overall energy preparedness. These measures contribute directly to the country’s broader Kuwait energy security strategy.

Restoring transmission lines and enhancing readiness reflects Kuwait’s proactive approach to protecting critical infrastructure. The ministry’s commitment ensures continuous service, operational resilience, and strong protection against future threats, reinforcing national confidence in energy security.
