Kuwait-Oman Economic Ties Strengthen with $3.27 Billion Investments

Oman-Kuwait partnership continues to grow as Kuwait’s direct investments in Oman reached $3.27 billion by early 2025. This growth reflects the strong economic collaboration and advanced levels the Oman-Kuwait partnership has achieved in recent years. Moreover, the relationship serves as a regional and international model of cooperation, strengthened both officially and at the popular level.

Trade between the two nations is expanding rapidly. In 2024, bilateral trade reached nearly $5 billion, almost doubling the previous year’s volume. During the first half of 2025, trade totaled about $2.3 billion, signaling strong momentum. Furthermore, cultural exchanges are flourishing, including Oman being guest of honor at the 48th Kuwait International Book Fair in November 2025.

The ambassador highlighted the close and distinguished relationship and emphasized its steady growth under current leadership. He noted recent high-level visits to expand cooperation across multiple sectors. These engagements show a shared commitment to elevating economic, cultural, and social collaboration. In addition, Oman’s diplomatic approach relies on neutrality, dialogue, and respect for international law and UN principles.

Regional issues remain central to Oman-Kuwait partnership discussions. The ambassador reaffirmed support for Palestinian rights, calling a two-state solution the only just and viable path. He warned that any lesser solution would be temporary and insufficient to achieve lasting stability.

Domestically, Oman is progressing steadily toward Oman Vision 2040, aiming for a diversified economy, modern society, and effective institutions. Significant steps this year include improving public spending efficiency, upgrading the credit rating to investment grade, and signing agreements to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. These developments also strengthen Oman-Kuwait partnership opportunities in trade, investment, and joint projects.

The ambassador concluded by reaffirming Oman’s commitment to deepening ties with Kuwait. He stressed that both nations are dedicated to regional peace, economic growth, and sustainable development. Overall, the Oman-Kuwait partnership demonstrates how cooperation and mutual respect bring tangible benefits for both countries.
