The Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Housing Affairs, Abdullatif Al-Mishari, has officially extended the tenure of the Women’s Housing Affairs team. This team is led by Sheikha Bibi Yousef Al-Sabah. This decision, announced on March 12, 2025, underscores the importance of continued efforts to address the unique housing needs of women in Kuwait.
The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) released a statement. It highlighted that the team has made significant progress since its formation last October. During this time, the team has carefully reviewed and made key observations regarding the provision of housing care for women. These efforts are critical in ensuring that women, particularly those who meet the eligibility criteria, have access to the housing support they need.
According to the PAHW, the proposals submitted by the Women’s Housing Affairs team during its previous term are currently being reviewed. These proposals are being integrated into the housing care framework. Their aim is to refine and improve the services and regulations concerning housing care for female citizens.
To further enhance the team’s effectiveness, the recent decision to extend its tenure also includes the addition of a representative from the Ministry of Interior. This inclusion will help in evaluating proposals and support the implementation of procedures. Additionally, it will address concerns raised by eligible female citizens. Furthermore, the supervisor of the distribution department at the Public Authority for Housing Welfare will also join the team. This ensures that the distribution of housing services is carried out smoothly and efficiently.
The Minister of Housing and the board of directors have reiterated their commitment to providing housing care for eligible female citizens. This is in alignment with the Housing Care Law. By extending the team’s work and strengthening its structure, the ministry aims to continue supporting women in accessing suitable and secure housing.
This extension reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring equitable housing solutions. It also highlights the importance of addressing the specific needs of women in the housing sector. Through these efforts, the Ministry of Housing hopes to continue enhancing the quality of life for female citizens. They aim to ensure they receive the support they deserve.
