Kuwait and Italy have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening military cooperation following high-level defense talks held in Rome.
Kuwait’s Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Khaled Al-Shuraian, met with Italian Chief of Defense Lt. Gen. Luciano Portolano during an official visit to Italy. The discussions focused on expanding bilateral military cooperation and deepening the strategic defense partnership between the two countries.
The two military leaders also exchanged views on regional developments and discussed efforts to support security and stability.
During the visit, Al-Shuraian also held talks with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto on advancing defense cooperation and enhancing the longstanding ties between Kuwait and Italy.
The meeting was attended by Kuwait’s Ambassador to Italy, Nasser Al-Qahtani, and included discussions on issues of mutual interest.
Al-Shuraian concluded his official visit and returned to Kuwait on Friday, accompanied by a delegation of senior Kuwaiti military officers.
